Organizing Your Glitter and Embossing Powders

I love to organize! I could spend hours at places like the Container Store and IKEA. Their is just something about all of the cute and sometime, just clever, storage solutions that are available.

I also love to have my craft supplies out in the open and easily accessible. With my rather large supply of P K Glitz Glitters, Embossing Powders, and Embossing Glitters, I knew I needed a solution that would work for me and allow me to see the colors I had on hand at a glance.

I purchased the plastic containers at Target last year and they worked perfectly for all of my P K Glitz jars, except for one thing….

… I could only see the colors if I looked through the bottom of the container and the containers were drab, even with their pretty blue handles. Okay, that was two things but who is counting, right?

I loved the idea of having all of the colors of each product in separate containers, but I needed a solution to the color problem.

I grabbed my 1/4 inch Sticky Tape and began placing a small strip on each of the jar lids.

I then peeled off the Sticky Tape cover and used the Glitter or embossing powder color on each of the corresponding jar lids.

Now I can see at a glance the colors I have on hand.

The problem of the dull containers was an easy fix. I cut some pretty patterned paper into strips that would fit just below the handles. I used my Sticky Tape to attach it to the outside of the container and I used a strip of 1/4 inch Sticky Tape along the top and bottom of each paper strip and added a coordinating glitter color. I used my Silhouette to cut out the product names for each tub to easily identify what was in each one. I have used this system for at least 6 months now and it is the perfect solution for me.
